It’s easy to set up and works well with the Blink app. I’m still deciding if I’ll keep it or return it, but for the price, it’s a good option if you don’t mind the cloud storage setup.

The two-way audio means you can chat through the camera, whether you want to say hi to a delivery person or shoo away a curious critter. What People Say
People appreciate how much easier these cameras are to install compared to wired systems, and the video quality gets a lot of praise. The person detection feature is a game-changer for reducing unnecessary alerts, and the long battery life means less hassle swapping batteries. Some mention the live view time limit and cold weather affecting performance, but overall it’s seen as a solid, reliable option.
🗣️ Amazon Customer
These are great cameras for home security. These are best for those that do not want to run wires of traditional home security sets. Since the cameras for lithium battery powered, the records are short (10 seconds) and do not always catch the initial motion. However, they are great and do the job. The video quality is very good and high definition. Each individual camera can be accessed in the app and you can talk to anyone in front of the camera. The batteries are long lasting. They are easy to install for anyone who is tech savvy. The instructions are pretty straightforward, but anyone who is not great with electronics may need some slight assistance. I highly recommend these cameras.
🗣️ MayBae
We have been using the Blink Outdoor 3 on the outside of our garage for a few years now. The Outdoor 4 is a vast improvement. The camera angle is wider and clearer and I appreciate the durable coating on the outside. We all LOVE the fact that we get person warnings instead of just a general notification. With 3 outdoor cameras and a doorbell, it’s nice to not have to check the recording right away if it’s not a person that sets it off. The Sync Module 2 that comes with it is a nice bonus, and the battery life is solid. It’s not perfect — the live view disconnects after 5 minutes and cold weather can be tough on the batteries — but overall, it’s a definite upgrade.

It’s completely wire-free, so you can set it up pretty much anywhere without hunting for power outlets. The two-year battery life means you won’t be swapping batteries all the time, which is a huge plus. You get crisp 1080p HD video with a wide 143° field of view, so it covers a good chunk of your yard or porch. Plus, it has enhanced motion detection that’s smart enough to send you alerts when it spots a person, especially if you opt for the subscription plan. The two-way audio lets you chat through the camera, which is handy if you want to tell the delivery person where to leave a package or just check in on things. It works with Alexa too, so you can ask for a live view without lifting a finger. Whether you want to keep an eye on your home daily or just want peace of mind during summer get-togethers, this camera handles it all with minimal fuss.

🗣️ Vivi Fuentes
It took me years to finally get cameras for my property, and I’m really happy with the Blink Outdoor 4. The video quality is clear, setup was a breeze, and the app is easy to navigate. I even bought some extra mounting hardware for my siding, which was simple to install. The battery life is impressive, lasting a couple of months even with regular use. Occasionally it disconnects, but a quick unplug and plug back in fixes it right away. Overall, it’s affordable and reliable, and I highly recommend it.
🗣️ MayBae
Upgrading from the Blink Outdoor 3, the Outdoor 4 is a noticeable improvement. The wider and clearer camera angle makes a big difference, and the durable coating means I don’t have to worry about weather protection as much. Person detection alerts are a game changer — it’s great not having to check every notification if it’s just a car or animal. The Sync Module 2 that comes with it helps with connectivity, though Wi-Fi strength in your home still matters a lot. I’m looking forward to future updates that let you schedule cameras individually, but even as is, this system works well and is worth the upgrade.

Overall, it’s seen as a solid, affordable option for outdoor security that doesn’t overcomplicate things.
🗣️ C.
I have blink cameras around my whole house and I would highly recommend them over the high priced security systems. Affordable, have great night vision, the plan is only $10/month and the cameras are affordable and great quality! The spotlight camera is the best!
🗣️ Michael Man
Good camera.. great night vision with spot light.. intuitive connection with Blink camera system and app. Things to know… (1) fog lights take 4 DD batteries so not sure how long that will last. (2) regular camera takes 2 AA batteries that last pretty long. (3) use your own screws to mount because the screws in package are cheap. (4) fog lights are not extremely powerful, just enough light to look around or bother an intruder. But not like daylight bright.

The video quality, including night vision, gets good marks, and the battery life is a standout feature. Some mention the importance of placing the Sync Module well to keep a strong connection, but overall, users find it reliable and a great value compared to pricier systems.
🗣️ The Photography Hobbyist
Overall, I’m very happy with the Blink camera system (and I’m not paying for the subscription). One of the reasons I decided to buy into this system was because I didn’t need a subscription for live view anytime via the app and could save motion-triggered videos locally on a USB flash drive. The image quality is very good, especially the night vision, and the battery life is impressive. Just make sure you place the Sync Module carefully for the best wireless signal to your cameras. It’s been a solid, budget-friendly option compared to other brands.
🗣️ Squid
Just got this camera and noticed a big improvement in quality over previous versions. The field of view is wider, and the mounts are better designed. Person detection works well to reduce false alerts, and the app has improved a lot with more customization options. Battery life is great, and pairing it with the Blink subscription really helps with smarter notifications. It’s a bit pricey, but the monthly plan makes it easier to manage. Overall, a nice upgrade that’s easy to set up and reliable.

🗣️ Sara Fernandez
I bought this camera to use in my home, to catch the people coming in my home while I am gone. I was using an extra cell phone with the Alfred App which worked fine but better with the paid plan. Anyway, so setting up took a few minutes, very simple to do with the Blink Monitor App. My only complaint is there is an extremely loud screeching noise coming out of the App, the only way to get rid of it is to turn the audio off. You can zoom in which I could not do with Alfred. The picture quality is superb, I was talking softly and the camera picked it up, so audio is great. You automatically get the cloud trial plan for 30 days. It’s a small camera but gets big results. I highly recommend!

eufy SoloCam S220
If you’re tired of constantly swapping batteries or paying monthly fees for your security cameras, the eufy SoloCam S220 might just be the hassle-free solution you’ve been looking for. This little solar-powered camera keeps itself charged with just a few hours of sunlight, so you can basically set it and forget it. It shoots in sharp 2K resolution, giving you clear day and night footage, and the AI-powered human detection means you won’t get bombarded with alerts from every passing squirrel. Whether you want to keep an eye on your front porch, backyard, or anywhere outdoors, it’s wireless and easy to install — just drill one hole and you’re good to go. Plus, no monthly fees means you’re not locked into anything, and the app is straightforward enough that you’ll be up and running in no time. It’s a solid pick if you want reliable outdoor security without the usual headaches.
What People Say
People appreciate how the solar charging really takes the stress out of maintenance, and the video quality is often described as surprisingly sharp for an outdoor camera. The human detection feature helps keep notifications relevant, and the app is straightforward enough that even less tech-savvy users can get it set up quickly. Some mention the included screws aren’t the best, but overall, it’s a dependable camera that feels like a smart investment for outdoor security.
🗣️ Eric
I have had the cameras over a month and have been the best compared to other competitors. I like not having to worry about charging a battery and not having to pay a subscription fee. Installation was simple with installation taking about 15 minutes. Determining the right angle is what took the most time. I recommend adding the camera to the app first to view the position as you install. The app is very user friendly and is pretty much “plug and play”. The app has great motion detection and a history log and alerts depending on what you would like to recognize, to specifically include human motion detection. Overall, I am impressed with the products video quality and app features that in the end make me feel safe and secured.
🗣️ MB
I purchased this camera as an add on to my already existing “Eufy System” because one of my battery power cameras just didn’t hold enough charge in the location I had it located at. I’ll say I did fully charge this solar camera before using it because it had been overcast weather recently and I wasn’t sure how long it would take to charge the battery with the solar panel. This camera was easy to set up and connected to my system without any problems. It’s been about two weeks, and it operates exactly as it should. The battery indicator shows full (I’m assuming it stays fully charged with the solar it gets). Very happy so far with the quality of the camera. If it continues to work well, I’ll probably add a couple more Eufy Solocam cameras to my system. As a side note: Throw away the included installation screws as they are “absolute junk” and will strip when you try to tighten them to secure the base.

🗣️ RYAN G
I want to start off by saying that I currently own 6 Eufy cameras. 3 indoor, 2 outdoor, plus a new e340 doorbell camera that I am waiting to be delivered. All of these cameras are great. Especially these E220’s. I got the 2 pack for a pretty good price from Amazon. I also LOVE Amazon! These e220’s are easy and very fast to install. I’ve already got the eufy app, so install is literally only 5 mins per camera. Most of the time is due to the updating and syncing to my wifi. The actual install only takes 1 minute, the rest of the time is spent waiting for the update etc. The camera quality is good at 2k. They have a nice wide field of view. The picture quality is great. Obviously, the more resolution the better, but these ones are good enough for my indoor use. They zoom, have an alarm on them and you can speak and listen through them as well, via the app. They are plugged into a 120V wall socket. They have pretty good night vision as well. They record when movement is detected and you can customize it all in the app with many different options. I always buy SanDisk 10 speed, 120GB MicroSD cards for these cameras. They work 100% of the time in these devices and they hold a ton of information. Best thing with these Eufy products is that there are ZERO monthly fees and you can view the cameras via the app from anywhere in the world with a stable wifi connection and your phone or tablet. I highly recommend these cameras. I also highly recommend Eufy, itself. I will be buying more. Thanks Eufy!

This was a hell of a deal and I’m shocked at how good the picture quality is. I wish I would have had this when my baby was first born because it has an option to detect crying. It could definitely work as a baby monitor. I’m using it to watch my toddler during quiet time. The pan and tilt are great. Picture quality is phenomenal. The only downside is if you want to mount it to the wall it needs a third party mount, but we mounted it to the ceiling no problem.

After some initial hiccups with the first camera setup, I’m really happy with these AOQEE cameras. The night vision is impressively clear, even when the cameras are inside window sills looking out. I managed to tweak settings to reduce glare and turn off the light for better night images. The app is ad-free, which is a relief compared to my old cameras. Once connected, the cameras work great monitoring front and back porches with clear images and good range. The setup for the second camera was much easier, and now I’m confident in their reliability and performance.

🗣️ Amy Thach
What’s good about the camera is that the 2K resolution offers clearer, sharper images compared to standard 1080p cameras. This can help you get a better view of details like faces or small objects in my home. The camera’s ability to pan and tilt lets me cover a wider area and adjust the view remotely, which is way more flexible than a fixed camera. Wireless connectivity made installation a breeze, and I can control it from my phone. Two-way audio is great for talking to family or pets, or even scaring off intruders. Motion detection sends alerts only when something’s happening, which saves storage and gives peace of mind. It’s affordable too, which is a big plus. Just keep in mind it depends on your Wi-Fi, so a strong signal is key.

The system was easy to install and setup, and, if you dare, has more advanced features that I enjoy and use. Nighttime resolution is very good. Just got these in and mounted up. Easy to setup with simple mounts and swivels. Picture quality is very good, and the live video function works great. 🗣️ Lexis
These are so convenient! I got these to monitor my dogs while at work and they are really nice. The app is super easy to use which I really appreciate. I’ve had to unplug and move them around a couple times which does reset the system so that gets annoying, but it is easy to get reconnected for the most part. I will say that when the camera turns/rotates, it is relatively noisy. You can’t be sneaky with it per se. My dogs hear it turning from upstairs and will come check it out. It’s also noisy on the phone end as you watch it turn. For what I need it for, it doesn’t bother me much, but people trying to be more sneaky with it might have issues. I do wish that I didn’t have to have a subscription to Tapo to get a playback feature, but I guess that’s just the world we live in now.
🗣️ caitlan
I bought this camera to watch my dog while I’m gone. He has severe separation anxiety so I bought it so I could monitor and speak to him through the day. I didn’t want to have to spend money on a subscription service when I don’t need to use the camera every single day so I really LOVE the microSD option. It records and everything right to my phone there’s no extra fees. It has playback and I’m able to download with just the microSD installed. There’s multiple motion alerts and even motion tracking. I saw some reviews about the app functionality but I downloaded the “Tapo” app and it’s been fine for me I haven’t had any issues. My WiFi connected perfect, it’s very easy to set up. I’m even looking into purchasing more Tapo cameras for extra security cause so far I’m loving this brand! I highly recommend!! 10/10

We absolutely love this for our home! It covers an amazing range with such clarity! It made for an easy set up and connection with the step by step instruction provided with the equipment. The pictures are never grainy, super sharp and clear! Night vision works just as the same and it automatically goes into that mode when lack of light becomes present. You’re able to download an app to check live feeds whenever away and even activate motion and person detection. Notifications are spot on during any detection and it provides the timestamp of its occurrence. The company also provides extra bundles to purchase for more storage of recorded video feed if you’re away from home or simply what to run it 24/7. There are options of setting up the microphone to being two or one way. Definitely worth the buck, does all we needed for basic home security when we’re out and away from home!
🗣️ Curt B.
I purchased 2 of these in order to be able to watch my new dog when I left the house. The cameras were really easy to set up and connect to the Wifi and the app. The image quality is fantastic, particularly for this price point. It even has night vision which works perfectly. The only drawbacks…sound quality is poor, particularly if you need to understand human speech. I also wish it could tilt farther downward when sitting on it’s base (rather than having to install upside down.) But really, for $20 I am not complaining. I’ll probably get another one!

AOSU Solar Camera
If you’re looking to ditch the hassle of wires and constant battery changes, the AOSU Solar Camera is a great fit. It’s completely wireless and solar-powered, so as long as it gets some sunlight, it keeps running without you having to lift a finger. The 360-degree panoramic view means you can cover every corner of your yard or porch with a simple swipe in the app. What’s really handy is the human auto-tracking feature — it follows movement so you get detailed footage of anyone who comes near. Plus, the 2K color night vision actually shows you more than just shadows, which is a nice upgrade from the usual black-and-white night cams. Whether you want to keep an eye on your home daily or just need extra peace of mind during summer getaways, this camera makes it easy to stay connected and secure.
What People Say
Users love how easy this camera is to install and how reliable it is in all weather conditions. The solar power feature means you don’t have to fuss with batteries, and the local storage option is a big plus for privacy and security. The human tracking works well to avoid false alarms from pets or passing cars, and the night vision actually shows color, which helps identify details better. Some mention the app isn’t as full-featured on PC, but the phone app covers most needs. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you want a hassle-free, smart outdoor camera.
🗣️ artisannm
I wrote a lengthy review on the newest model that comes with a separate solar panel. I personally found this model quicker and easier to install. Note – the manufacturer includes a sticker with the mount holes to make drilling easier. As to the camera itself, I chose this brand because nobody else seemed to offer local storage options via SD card, within the camera itself. This is not only generally good as there’s no ‘base station’ with everything on it, to be swiped while someone is going through the house, but to my understanding if one employes a wifi jammer, these cameras will still default to recording locally to the onboard storage. It does offer cloud storage – but why? Also, with a jammer, you have to send data through the router to get to the cloud and it wouldn’t do that if the wifi signal is jammed at the source… The company makes a nice phone app but there’s nothing offered for your PC however. The app for this model is not quite as feature rich as the latest model, but I found these cameras do plenty including returning to their default position once they cease recording a moving human target. To set that up, just use the panning feature inside the app and then go outside and test the camera. Once it loses its target it will return to whatever position you last set it to. Now, there’s an additional feature in the app that builds a panorama scene but I can’t figure out what its for? It’s a still image so its not live and the camera doesn’t move throughout the day monitoring within that image, from left to right. I found that on the newer camera that having this setup seemed to create a settings conflict where the cameras didn’t detect me or track when I clearly moved beyond its lens view, which is pretty wide on these cameras to begin with. So I ended up deleting the panorama image and haven’t had any issues with either model since. There’s a colored night vision option on this model as well that seems to do well. I leave it on the HD mode. It can sputter when streaming playback to my phone but other than that there’s no desire to use a lower resolution, especially if it can’t make out the intruder. I had some issues with detection on the newer model I bought as a two pack and decided as part of the resolution of it not working – company and seller were great – was to order additional cameras but went with this older model instead. Also note – they sell the newer ones as a two pack and if one camera has an issue, you have to risk sending back the other camera also, even if its good. That or order a second two pack and then swap out one of the cameras. They offer these as a one pack – I’d advise doubling up on the order instead. I’ve had both models installed for just over a month and no complaints or issues to speak of. I would recommend these for anyone concerned about the thief not getting recorded, and or a camera that has tracking abilities. It does have the option to track cars or other motion like birds flying past the lens, so I turned this setting off since birds aren’t going to break into my house. The AI does well in determining a human form or shape as compared to a car or getting out of the car in the driveway where it will ignore you until it can determine you apart from the vehicle.
🗣️ Amazon Customer
Amazing Camera! I’ve had it for half a year and it has worked without any issues! It has never lost connection even through rain and snow, the battery life is amazing, and it has never died on me once. Considering a second purchase, as the installation was easy and quick.

This is a great little camera to have. It sits on a shelf in the living room so I can watch my dog and the front door of my home. I love the fact that it’s not running on a battery so no charging. Just plug it in and you’re ready to go, the connectivity is that easy. The first picture shows what it looks like with the eye opened and it spins 360 degrees if you need to hang it from your ceiling and wanna watch more. The second picture is what it looks like when it’s not in use. I love their products. I also use their doorbell, which has a super clear picture as well. I found the picture quality on their camera’s to be excellent and crystal clear. There was also a place for you to add a SIM card if you’d like or you can add cloud coverage to store your memory. It’s not needed unless you want to store what your cameras pick up. You can also schedule when you want to auto cruise with the camera, which means you can set a up a time from when you want the camera to go on, then when you want the camera to go off automatically. There’s a lot of little features with this little camera. Get one you won’t be sorry and your wallet will thank you as well because it’s a great value for the money.
🗣️ CheriN
Easy to set up, easy to use for elderly. My husband has early dementia and cannot use his phone anymore. He can easily call me from this camera though! Plus the picture quality is great and it will track him through the home from camera to camera. I have four cameras in our ranch house and it tracks him as he goes to each room. Also as enters a new camera range I get a notification on my phone. Great cameras, superb app, excellent picture quality, easy to setup and use, and an excellent price! What more can you ask for?

When I first got the camera the USB c port broke, customer service reached out and sent me new cameras both have been very sturdy. View is clear, volume is amazing, and two-way conversation is great. LaView is the best home security in my opinion — the price point is amazing and the options are great. It’s very user friendly and I even have them at multiple houses. These cameras are especially good for watching your kids. I have the doorbell camera, light bulb, and these. These ones are not good for outdoors but the light bulb one is. Don’t spend hundreds on other systems when you’ve got gold right here. Plus their customer service is unmatched! Been using LaView since 2021 and they haven’t missed a mark yet.
🗣️ Federica
So far I am very pleased with this home security camera system. The video quality is excellent, including the night vision. I have two cats and it’s been interesting to see what they do at night! Setting up the cameras was very easy. I just plugged them in, connected to the WiFi, and was able to instantly view the live feeds from my phone. The motion detection works great too — I get alerts whenever there is movement so I can check the live view immediately. The two-way audio seems really handy but I’ve only used it once so far. Also useful is the free cloud storage for 30 days, for reviewing any missed events. Highly recommended!

People also appreciate the smart motion detection that reduces false alerts and the long battery life that can last months depending on use. The app is straightforward, and many mention the convenience of swapping batteries to keep cameras running without downtime.
🗣️ Doug P
These cameras are amazing since the firmware upgrade recently introduced. They are easy to program, charge and work well with the app and 128 GB microSD card. They can format the card that some windows 10 and above computers will no longer do. They feature color night vision, infrared vision, motion sensing, settable zone for motion detection, and sensitivity adjustment. It can recognize known vehicles, so not to trigger an alert. They can be put to sleep when activity is occurring in the property, such as mowing, maintenance, deliveries, etc. helping to maintain the battery charge for longer periods. They do not seem to consume much power when just placed in monitoring mode but once it starts sensing motion, it will send a notification to your phone via the Internet in about 5 to 10 seconds. The charge appears to last between 1 1/2 and 3 months depending on the usage. The resolution is up to 4K, if desired, but using the standard resolution conserves the battery charge. The speed is fast with probably the 5 second delay for notification. Storage capacity is 128 GB and is easily reviewed with your phone and the length of recording motion can be easily adjusted. More features are available with a reasonably priced subscription of about USD 40 a year for unlimited numbers of devices monitored. I’m using 5, and keep a spare fully charged and ready to go. When the battery is depleted in one camera. I just simply replace it with my fully charged spare then recharge that will. I think the quality and features rival that of any of the other leading monitoring systems and this system can be used without a subscription, but you are only using the storage capacity of the camera for image retention. Installation is easy instructions are clear, the app is fairly intuitive and is mandatory to be used for monitoring your cameras. The pictures will enlarge, are detailed, and can be viewed in landscape on your iPhone. The zone of interest in the picture can be individually zoomed, and screen shot made of any area and a screenshot made. I think these offer more features per dollar than any other camera I have had the opportunity to to use.

🗣️ Patricia R.
I purchased these for added home security. We already have a system but I wanted a different camera angle and decided to give these a try as a more affordable option. These were easy to set up and link to my phone so I can view the camera recordings or a live feed anytime 24/7. Camera does an excellent job for what I wanted it for. Note to others that you will need an SD card to record the feed. This does not come with the cameras. And also these are not great for night time viewing but that is not what I needed it for so does not bother me at all. Does excellent during daylight. Can even zoom in remotely if needed. Have recommended these to friends. I would definitely purchase more of these if I needed more cameras.
🗣️ Paula
Bought these indoor security cameras to keep an eye on my dog, Cujo, and my cat, Clarice, while we’re away. Little did I know, I’d be tuning into the most chaotic reality show ever. One minute, Cujo’s snoozing like an angel, and the next, he’s swiping socks off the counter while Clarice watches from her throne, probably plotting world domination. The cameras work great—clear picture, easy setup, and now I have hours of footage of my pets living their best lives while ignoring all my rules. It’s like Animal Planet, but with more attitude. Worth every penny!

FAQ
What Should You Consider When Choosing A Security Camera For Summer 2025?
When picking a security camera for summer 2025, you want to think about where you’ll install it—indoor or outdoor—since that affects weather resistance and power options. Battery life is key if you want wire-free placement, but some cameras offer solar panels or plug-in adapters for continuous power. Look for features like motion detection with customizable zones, two-way audio to communicate remotely, and clear video quality including color night vision for low-light conditions. Also, check if the camera works with your smart home system like Alexa or Google Assistant for easy control. Don’t forget to consider storage options—some cameras offer free local storage via SD cards, while others require cloud subscriptions for video history. Finally, make sure your Wi-Fi is strong enough, ideally 2.4 GHz, as many cameras don’t support 5 GHz, to ensure smooth live streaming and alerts.
How Can You Maximize The Practical Use Of Your Security Camera This Summer?
To get the most out of your security camera this summer, start by placing it where it covers key areas like entry points, driveways, or your backyard. If it’s an outdoor camera, consider adding a solar panel to keep the battery charged without hassle. Customize motion detection zones to avoid false alerts from trees or passing cars, and adjust sensitivity to your environment. Use two-way talk to interact with visitors or delivery people even when you’re away. Make sure to set up notifications on your phone so you get instant alerts. If your camera supports it, integrate with Alexa or Google Home to view live feeds hands-free. Lastly, regularly check your camera’s firmware and app updates to benefit from improved features and security patches.
Are Cloud Subscriptions Necessary For Security Cameras, Or Can You Use Them Without Extra Fees?
You can definitely use many security cameras without paying for cloud subscriptions, especially if they support local storage via microSD cards. This lets you save and review footage without ongoing fees. However, cloud subscriptions often add conveniences like longer video history, easier access from multiple devices, and advanced features like AI person detection or video summaries. Keep in mind that some cameras limit functionality without a subscription—for example, you might get live view and motion alerts but no video recording. If you want full features and hassle-free storage, a subscription can be worth it, but if you prefer to avoid extra costs, look for cameras with reliable local storage options and good app support.
