This came very bright, so I had to turn the brightness down (& it was only at a 35). I just played with the brightness & turn it up to 90 & goodness, it could light my entire office at night lol I have it at a 15 for comfort & it is still quite bright! For those struggling to get a dual monitor setup to be recognized by your laptop….. I found a good solution that will not require an expensive docking station!!! My laptop is an Acer product & only has 1 HDMI port. I tried every combination both with & without a few different docking stations with no positive results (unless you want replication then an HDMI splitter would work). I decided to try a USB-A to HDMI adapter….. it actually works!!! I bought a $15 USD one through Amazon called “StarTech”. Hopefully this helps others struggling to get a dual setup with only 1 HDMI port!

I was looking for a monitor with USB-C input (as well as HDMI) to connect to a laptop and/or tablet and this not only fits that desire, it has 12V power supply so I could actually use a 100W PD charger with a 12V PD cable. I have measured JUST 16 Watts on the monitor even at high brightness. The USB-C and HDMI work perfectly. As others have mentioned, the speakers aren’t very good (what to expect from 2W speakers). I’m not a gamer so don’t care about response times. The picture quality is GREAT IMHO. This replaces an old 24″ Acer monitor so slightly larger. Can’t say I notice the extra 3″ and the curve is not that much of a difference going from 24″ flat to 27″ curved. I’m just happy that everything works as advertised and the lower power consumption is an added bonus. I don’t have to deal with extra power bricks either. It’s a high quality mount both in build and design. It comes with two mounting options including the hardware for either/or. It has thin and thick washers along with short and long screws for mounting the bracket to the back of the monitor. The hardware was perfect for my needs. I ordered this to mount a 42″ TV. The VESA was the perfect size and connected to the TV very easily! The mounting instructions were pretty easy to follow and it came with more than enough bolts, screws and anchors for mounting it, as well as a bubble level! Most of the included screws I didn’t use as I was able to bolt it directly into a stud and did not need the smaller bolts or anchors. Getting the mount up on the wall is as easy as finding a stud and drilling three pilot holes, I then used a socket bit on my drill to drive the bolts through the set holes in the TV mount into the stud. Through that process, it was a one person job, but once it was up, putting the TV onto the mount was much easier with an extra set of hands. You have to rest the back of the TV mount part to the articulating mount base, then attach two smaller screws. This is where I had my wife hold the TV as I got the screws set. Once that was done, we adjusted the angle, tightened it down and watched some TV! I love how easily it moves and adjusts to different angles.

The AmazonBasics monitor with AOC technology is considerably brighter and clearer than my old one. I used AOC monitors exclusively in the past so I expected good image quality and performance. If you want to listen to music you will need an additional speaker. Thankfully there is an audio out and a headset port built into the monitor. My desk setup has the AmazonBasics monitor and another connected via hdmi to an Anker 553 USB-C hub. The AmazonBasics monitor is also connected to the Anker hub via the monitor’s USB B port. This allows me to leave my webcam, keyboard, and mouse plugged into the AmazonBasics monitor for a permanent desk setup. When I am ready to work I simply connect the single USB C cable from the Anker hub to my laptop. This single connection gives me access to everything I need thanks to the monitor’s built-in USB hub. When I purchased it in early 2023 it was $150. It is a great monitor at a great price.

I needed a monitor with audio but didn’t want to spend a lot and I’ve used Amazon Basics before for other things, so I thought this was a great deal. At first, I thought, I needed a 32″ but the one that I am replacing is 27″ so it was a no brainer. I LOVE IT! It has all kinds of settings and has 3 different video inputs and 3 USB inputs, one is the printer type, meant to be a hub. Also an audio in and out which I really like. The hardest part of setting up is the damned box, what is with all the tabs they put on them now!!?? I just tore it open. I had to read the manual only a couple of times as it is set just the way I like it. Most of the hardware assembly is no big deal, you can tell what goes where. Another nice feature is a regular plug, not a power block. You can easily plug into a power strip without taking up 3 outlets. The speaker/s are okay, but not vibrant enough for me. But I have an Altec Lansing speaker which I am using for the sound. Picture is great and it has many options for change if I want. It even has a gaming mode which I don’t need but thought I should mention.

My sound bar is so wide I could not center it in front of the TV because the TV infra red remote signal is on the bottom right of the TV & the sound bar hides it making it unable use the remote to turn on the TV – and positioning the sound bar to the left makes me unable to use the remote on the cable box. So by putting the cable box & blu-ray player on the riser, I could slide the soundbar to the left of the TV so it does not hide the remote control infra red remote signal on the TV. So now the remote control operates all three – TV, cable box & blu-ray with no problems. So far, I love the riser, the size, price and it’s well made & very, very easy to assemble. ( if you’re thinking hanging the TV on the wall would’ve solved the problem, you’re right. But I didn’t want to put screws in the wall )
